Located in an 1893 Victorian farmhouse in the seaside town of Mendocino, the restaurant is surrounded by a large and beautiful garden filled with antique roses, edible flowers and unusual plants. Dinner is served nightly.
A hallmark of Cafe Beaujolais' cooking is the use of organically grown produce. In addition, most of our meat, poultry and eggs come from animals humanely raised in a free-range environment, without chemical-supplemented feed. As for the sea's harvest, our purveyors often provide locally line-caught or farmed seafood.
Our full-serve deli is packed with a delicious array of natural soups, salads, sandwiches, sushi, hot entrees and hormone-free roasted chicken. We also carry a full line (one of the largest anywhere) of organic raw foods, raw snacks and desserts.

The Earth Cafe is a cooperative effort, rather than a conventional restaurant. The people who work here actually make the food at home and bring it in. The range of vegetarian offerings include samosas, casseroles, and hummus sandwiches. Understandably, the quality varies, but, in general it is quite high, and if you find someone whose cooking you particularly like, then you're set. The atmosphere is quiet, almost studious, and the service is polite and very friendly. The smell of incense wafts in from the store next door and makes everything feel all right.
