Located on the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior in the town of Grand Marais, Minnesota, the Angry Trout Cafe is a small indoor/outdoor restaurant cobbled together out of an old commercial fishing shanty that clings to the edge of Grand Marais Harbor. From this beautiful setting we offer a menu based on the bounty of Lake Superior and the surrounding region – locally-grown produce, hand-harvested wild rice, and of course, our specialty, fresh Lake Superior fish.
The Angry Trout Cafe is committed to operating in accordance with the concept of sustainability, striving to have a positive effect on our community economically, socially, and environmentally. Some examples of our sustainable business practices include serving organically- and sustainably-raised foods, using wind-powered electricity, and investing in our neighborhood economy by purchasing as much as we can from local providers.
Buffaloberries is a fast casual restaurant located in historic downtown Sioux Falls, SD. Buffaloberries menu items are made from select ingredients, including whole grains, grass fed meats, and foods rich in antioxidants, Omega3 fats and fiber, carefully chosen for their proven health benefits. All American restaurant serving lunch and dinner. All our proteins are antibiotic and hormone free or organic. All produce is organic and or locally farmed seaonally. We restrict our purchases to food raised naturally without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers.
Most foods and grains are organically grown with as many as possible from local farms. The soups are our own recipes, using fresh herbs, and all foods cooked in nut or olive oils. Our chickens are naturally raised and range fed, and we use only natural meats, without antibiotics or force fed hormones. Only the freshest of fish is served and we minimize the use of dairy ingredients. The steam convection oven is our pride and joy, but alas, against our principals, we do prepare our aumelettes in teflon coated pans. All foods and baked goods are prepared on the premises in one of our two kitchens, believe it or not, one above and one below. We use no food colourings, preservatives, refined sugar or bleached flour. Our bread is baked daily from organic grains.
