The Earth Cafe is a cooperative effort, rather than a conventional restaurant. The people who work here actually make the food at home and bring it in. The range of vegetarian offerings include samosas, casseroles, and hummus sandwiches. Understandably, the quality varies, but, in general it is quite high, and if you find someone whose cooking you particularly like, then you're set. The atmosphere is quiet, almost studious, and the service is polite and very friendly. The smell of incense wafts in from the store next door and makes everything feel all right.
